Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy, or DMD, is a serious condition that affects the way the body’s muscles work. In this BrainPOP movie, Tim and Moby teach you about the effects that DMD has on kids who have it, and about the therapies they can undergo to slow its progress. Learn about the telltale signs of DMD that help doctors diagnose the condition, as well as the physical changes that take place in the muscles of kids with the disorder. Although Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a progressive condition - it gets worse as time goes on - you’ll learn about how treatment is improving to help slow it down.
