Court Quest is a fun and interactive game about the federal and state court systems, and the appeals process. As players navigate around the U.S., they will encounter citizens who need assistance getting their cases to the correct courts. Players will read each person's case and analyze the details carefully, so they can direct the citizen to the appropriate court. If the citizen wins the case, a player is done helping him or her. Congrats! If the citizen loses the case and needs to appeal, the player is responsible for directing the citizen to the next highest court. This game provides an excellent civics lesson in the workings of our judicial system.
In this lesson plan, students learn about the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme court case and conduct a comparison to the judgements in Plessy vs. Ferguson. See more »
