Standards Alignments on BrainPOP

Standards alignments on BrainPOP are easy to find and use!  Simply click the big teal STANDARDS button on any topic page to see how BrainPOP resources are aligned at each grade to CCSS, NGSS, and your state standards.

Aligning to content standards is important, but so is recognizing the need to address standards that build skills. BrainPOP’s alignments go beyond the movie content. By clicking the various resources and tools, such as Make-a-Movie, Make-a-Map, Primary Source, and Challenge for example, you can see how engaging with these features addresses standards related to speaking, listening, interpreting, analyzing, presenting, and writing. 

Science teachers will appreciate that science-related resources are aligned to the three NGSS dimensions: Science and Engineering Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas, in addition to the overarching Performance Expectations for the year.

Choose just your grade OR choose all grades. Teachers have told us that it is helpful to see the alignments for grade levels just before and after their own to see what their students already know and how to prepare them for the following academic year. 

When you select a specific grade or state, we remember! Next time you log in, your grade will already be pre-selected. The same goes with the national standards. Whether you choose CCSS or NGSS, that will be your default.
