New Topic: Regions of the Thirteen Colonies
Posted by jglassman on
We are excited to present our new and improved movie about the original colonies. In Regions of the Thirteen Colonies, Tim and Moby explore the stories behind the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies, specifically how geography impacted everything from a region’s industry to its culture. Students discover, for example, how warm climate and rich soil led the Southern Colonies to grow and sell cash crops, while New England colonists made their fortunes from fishing, whaling, and shipbuilding. Meanwhile, the Middle Colonies were home to thriving port cities.
For guidance exploring this topic, see our Regions of the Thirteen Colonies lesson plan, which culminates in a “Guess the Region” game.
