To the Arctic Lesson Plan: Create a Poster

In this lesson plan, which is adaptable for grades 6-8, students use BrainPOP resources to explore multimedia and advertisements. Students use technology to learn how to create a poster about animals and biomes in the arctic.
Students will:
- Construct a poster using STEM. Students will design a poster with measurements.
- Learn how to create a poster with technology or poster board.
- Explore multimedia and advertisements.
Materials:
- Poster or computers
- BrainPOP videos
- Poster or computers
Vocabulary:
Tundra, biomes, climate, animals from arctic
Preparation:
Students should know basic computer skills and have researched Arctic animals and Tundra biomes.Lesson Procedure:
- Students share poster with class and post around school.
- Students watch videos from BrainPOP.
- Class discussion on what animals and biomes are located in the arctic.
- Show the To The Arctic video clip.
- Students are giving instructions that they are hired to make a movie poster for the movie To the Arctic.
- Students construct poster using Word, Publisher, Power Point, or poster board.
