Family and Homeschool Activities: Musical Alphabet
These family and homeschool activities are designed to complement the Musical Alphabet topic on BrainPOP Jr.
C to Shining C
If possible, play a simple C scale on an instrument, such as a piano. Some websites have online keyboards where you can press the keys and play notes. (Some even show you how to play a C scale.) Have your child practice playing the scale. As you play together, have him or her name the notes that are being played: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C.
Bass or Treble Clef
Listen to music together or see live music. Many local colleges have chamber ensembles and many high schools have orchestras or marching bands. Have your child pick out instruments that play notes in the bass or treble clef. If your child does not know the name of an instrument, look it up together online or at the library.
