Grade Levels: K-3

These family and homeschool activities are designed to complement the Colors topic on BrainPOP Jr.

Color Walk

Take a walk around your community with your child. Have him or her explore the surroundings and look for different colors. You may even want to pick a color to search for on your walk. How are colors used? Why might some flowers have bright colors? Why might street signs be yellow? Have your child write down his or her ideas and questions in a notebook to research later.

Feelings on Paper

Have your child choose an emotion to explore in a piece of artwork, such as happiness, anger, confusion, or sadness. Encourage him or her to use colors and images to help express the emotion. Then together create a piece of art that explores a more complicated feeling or idea, such as curiosity or sneakiness.
