Educator Resources for Collisions: Ionic Bonding

In Collisions: Ionic Bonding, players must use the ions provided to build ionic compounds that satisfy the target ratios in five challenge levels. Through exploration and play, students will be introduced to cation-anion attraction, neutrality and ionic ratios. Collisions: Ionic Bonding is designed for various classroom usage scenarios and can be played before, during, and after the introduction of Ionic Bonding. The rules of Collisions are grounded in the rules of chemistry, so as players learn to play the game they simultaneously develop understanding of fundamental chemistry concepts. The Challenges are designed to ‘level up’ and increase in both content integration and complexity as the player progresses through the game.
