June was a very busy month at BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr.! Explore these new movies, games, and tools.

New Learning Activities

Creative Coding
Developed with our partner Vidcode, Creative Coding invites My BrainPOP users to show what they know about a topic through a variety of coding projects. Creative Coding provides scaffolding that enables students with little or no coding experience to succeed, while those with coding background can take their work to more sophisticated levels.  Review our collection of support materials to familiarize yourself with the feature.

Assignment Builder
Our easy-to-use assignment tool for BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. lets you create a single assignment with multiple movies and features.  To access Assignment Builder, simply log in with your My BrainPOP teacher account, navigate to any topic or feature, click the assign button, and select Assignment Builder.

New on BrainPOP Jr.

Computer Programming
You probably know phones and tablets use computer programs. But, did you know ovens and microwaves do too? In this movie, Annie and Moby explore computer programming and discover how coding is just like writing instructions.

Computational Thinking
Join Annie and Moby as they learn to use computational thinking to solve an everyday problem. Watch how they break down a problem, brainstorm solutions, and create steps to solve it! Together you’ll discover how to think like a computer scientist.

New on BrainPOP

National Parks
Lace up your hiking boots and join Tim and Moby as they explore the story behind America’s breathtaking 85 million acres of land that make up our National Parks!

Elie Wiesel
Students learn about the life of Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel and discover how this author, activist, and above all survivor documented his and others’ experiences during the Holocaust.
NOTE: Due to the sensitivity of this topic, consider previewing the movie before showing it to the class.

New on GameUp

Collisions: Ionic Bonding
In this game, from our partner PlayMada, students put their chemistry smarts to the test building ionic compounds that satisfy target ratios.

Mission US: Up from the Dust
In our newest Mission US simulation, students experience the enormous hardships facing Americans during the late 1920s and early 1930s, as they struggled against the joint catastrophes of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. Explore other games in the Mission US collection.
