SimCityEDU – The Newest Release from GlassLab

Posted by Andrew Gardner on

Remember SimCity, Will Wright’s famous game in which you create the city of your dreams?  Recently Glasslab, a nonprofit video game development group based at the California campus of game publisher Electronic Arts, has created a new version of the game specifically designed for use in school settings. Aligned with both the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) SimCityEDU has recently launched the “pollution challenge” which puts students into the role of decision maker navigating the scientific, economic and social challenges that accompany designing a sustainable city.  Check out Time Magazine’s article about SimCityEDU, or, if you’d like to check out other educational games, check out our collection on BrainPOP’s GameUp!
