Best Song Competition:

Have students vote on the best musical creation at the end of the One Man Band lesson, and discuss reasons why they liked one sound over another. Encourage students to use key vocabulary terms to describe what they heard and what elements of the songs worked well.

Exploring Sounds:

Sounds are made by various instruments in this game. But, sounds can be made with things found around the classroom, too. After playing One Man Band, invite students to experiment with found objects within the classroom to explore how various musical sounds can be made or improvised. Lots of objects can be used to make music, even students’ desks!
