These family and homeschool activities are designed to complement the Eloise Greenfield topic on BrainPOP Jr.
Family Poem
Many of Eloise Greenfield’s poems are about the importance of family. You may want to read Brothers and Sisters: Family Poems together and then write poems about your own family together. You can each write your own poems or write a poem together. You can even get every member of your family to write a line of the poem.
Tough Times
Many of Eloise Greenfield’s books are about kids who go through happy and sad times. Some characters learn how to deal with difficult feelings and find happiness, and other characters maintain a positive outlook despite tough situations. Together with your child, discuss a challenging time in his or her life. How did your child cope with his or her feelings? Write a poem or story together to describe what happened. Encourage writing to be an outlet for your child to deal with unpleasant feelings.
