Grade Levels: K-3

These family and homeschool activities are designed to complement the Dr. Seuss topic on BrainPOP Jr.

Dr. Seuss Book Club

Create a book club or reading group with your child and other family members. Select a different Dr. Seuss book each week or every two weeks to read and discuss. What themes does the book explore? What are the characters like? What was the best or worst part of the book? What was the scariest or funniest? Encourage your child to discuss his or her thoughts about the book.

Rhyming Hour

Dr. Seuss used plenty of nonsense words and played with language in his rhymes. Challenge your child to only rhyme for an hour (or longer). You may wish to do an activity together, such as going to the grocery store or doing chores. Encourage him or her to find different ways to rhyme and make up words.
