BioDive is an immersive dual web-based virtual reality/digital experience in which students investigate the delicate ecosystems of venomous marine snails. In this pared down GameUP version of BioDive, students practice critical skills of observation and documentation on their underwater virtual reality dive. Students learn about the role venomous marine snails play in the marine ecosystem: what they eat, how they eat, and where they live. They also explore the ocean, learn about ocean zones, food webs, and the marine biodiversity in these unique environments. BioDive was developed by a team of science teachers and scientists to model the process of scientific inquiry and discovery, with support from the U.S. National Science Foundation.
