Certification Process and Requirements

Program Format

To become certified, the candidate will

  • Attend a live BrainPOP workshop led by the BrainPOP Educators team.
  • Complete all 6 assignments (listed on your left) and submit them for review to the BrainPOP Educators team.
  • Candidates will then receive a certificate and invitation to the permanent certification community.

Time Commitment and Final Due Dates

Attendance to the workshop is required. Follow up activities should take roughly 6-8 hours and should be successfully submitted and accepted by the final due date associated with the training that you attended

How to Submit Requirements

Assignments

Assignments will be collected in BrainPOP. When you click “submit” on a learning activity, such as a quiz, concept map or game snapshot, the artifact will appear in the teacher’s BrainPOP feed. You will receive feedback from our evaluators in BrainPOP, including notes about any changes that need to be made to your submission.

Please note content submissions requirements vary by assignment.  Using the DEMO username you created (ex. firstnamelastnamedemo), assignments 1-5: Make-A-Map, SnapThought™ Snapshots, Creative Coding, Scavenger Hunt (Quiz), and Make-a-Movie will be submitted within BrainPOP directly to the class that you enrolled in during the workshop.  Assignment 6, your “aha” moment/lesson plan will be submitted to us via email at educators@brainpop.com.

We continually track certification requirement submissions for all candidates.  However, if you don’t receive feedback within a week of  completing your assignments, notify the educators team and we’ll follow up ASAP. Please note that we track hundreds of certification candidates and thousands of submissions, so  sometimes our feedback may take a little longer.

Evaluation Criteria

We trust you. You’re a professional and you can distinguish good work from lousy work.  Therefore, we aren’t providing micro-detailed rubrics for the 6 follow-up assignments. However,  we are expecting that the submissions are clearly written, make sense and show effort. If we determine that your submissions fall below an acceptable level, we will ask you to resubmit. If you do not submit acceptable work before the deadline, you will not become “Certified”.
