Our Certified BrainPOP Educator program recognizes teachers who demonstrate a mastery of our resources and notable creativity when using them to help students learn. The designation gives you exclusive access to a global community of fellow certified educators – a forum for sharing the exciting things you and your students are doing, and gathering other educators’ ideas and best practices.

Additionally, CBEs have the opportunity to consult with our production team, weighing in on everything from pipeline projects and beta launches to new features and professional development. They may also serve as BrainPOP “ambassadors,” representing us at trainings and events around the country.

To become a Certified BrainPOP Educator, attend an blended training workshop or online course with the BrainPOP Educators team, fulfill supplemental requirements and participate in our online community. Certified BrainPOP Educators are the first to know about new developments at BrainPOP and may receive opportunity to beta test new features, provide advice to developers, and more.

Most CBE workshops are held in a classroom setting at conferences around the country. In these sessions, led by our BrainPOP Educators team, attendees learn about BrainPOP’s latest and greatest features through hands-on exploration and modeling via large-group, small-group, and partner activities.

Our exclusive Certified BrainPOP Educator Google+ community has connected educators from around the United States and beyond. Here CBEs can share some of the exciting things they’ve been doing in their classrooms while discussing best practices and approaches with fellow educators. It’s also a place where we can communicate BrainPOP opportunities and events with all of our CBEs and collect feedback on a variety of topics.

Are you interested in becoming a Certified BrainPOP Educator? We have conducted workshops for hundreds of participants around the country and online.

Stay tuned for our full list of upcoming in-person workshops.

Can’t make any of these in-person workshops? Register for one of our 4-week Online Courses. Note: BrainPOP reserves the right to deny enrollment in the course if  there are too many educators from one school or district.  We want to provide this opportunity to many!

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about BrainPOP!

  • Adrienne

I submitted an application, but I’m just now realizing that I wasn’t supposed to since I am a member of the NYCDOE. Just wondering how I should proceed?

  • Kathy Blankenship

I can’t wait to hear back! When will we know if we’re selected for TCEA?

    • cemignano

Hi Kathy- Thanks for your application! We’ll let individuals know of their acceptance at least a month in advance of the event.

      • Kathy Blankenship

Yay!!!! I made it! Thank you. 🙂

  • cemignano

Hi Adrienne- No worries! We’ll make a note on the application. To apply for the NYCDOE event, you’ll need to register on their intranet.

  • Richard Jones

    Hi

Is this just for teachers in the US? We use Brainpop in all seven of our schools in Shanghai and it would be great to become ‘certified’ if we could.

    Thanks,

    Richard Jones

  • Mandy

Hello! I homeschool my two children and we have used BrainPOP for over two years. I am interested in becoming a certified BrainPOP Educator and wanted to know if this was only open to certified teachers?

    • cemignano

Hi Mandy! All educators are able to apply 🙂 However, please be advised that the content will primarily focus on features available to students and educators who have access to a school-wide subscription.

  • Carole

Will there ever be just an online version for the certification? Unfortunately, I cannot attend the current trainings.

    • cemignano

Hi Carole! At this time, all of the certifications are in-person. Keep an eye on our CBE page – we might be heading to your area!

      • Carole

        Maybe MACUL in March???

  • Mike Washburn

Ugh. I am presenting at ISTE, and would LOVE to do this, but I won’t be in Philidephia until Sunday afternoon. I am driving from Toronto.

    • cemignano

Be sure to apply if your travel plans change 🙂

      • When will you notify teachers if they’re a part of the cohort at ISTE?

  • Maria Narciso

We are an Independent PreK-12 school in NYC and have used BrainPop for many years. Our question is, may we register as part of the NYCDOE?

    Maria Narciso

    • cemignano

Hi Maria- This training is specifically for teachers who are part of the NYCDOE. We have an event scheduled for April 18 that’s open to all, but it’s unfortunately full at this time. Please keep your eye on this page as we’ll be sure to update it with more events.

  • cemignano

We’re headed to MACUL as a vendor, but don’t have plans for a training session 🙁

  • Carol Persin

I just recently signed up for Pete&C in Hershey. I wanted to attend the BrainPop Educators session as I was told about it at TRETC in Pittsburgh. I thought the session would be free and it is listed in registration as $15. Therefore, I did not officially sign up. I wanted you to be aware as this may discourage people from signing up to attend.

    • cemignano

Hi Carol- Thanks for your comment! The $15 fee goes directly to the conference organizers and not BrainPOP. We won’t be charging anything additional to attend the session. Hope to see you there!

  • cemignano

Hi Richard- Thanks for your interest! At this time, we’re only hosting Certified sessions in the US. However, all teachers are welcome to apply if they’re going to be in the area!

  • Danielle K

For the Orlando session, do we have to pay for a ticket to FETC, or can we come and just attend your session?

  • Do you have any certifications planned for the west coast? I’d love to get this but I’m in California.

    Thanks,
    Kelly Martin

    • brainpopandrew

HI Kelly, we don’t have anything planned for California right now. When we do, we will let everyone know through social media, our blog on BrainPOP Educators and our email blasts! Stay tuned!

  • Jennifer Hargis

Are these classes online or in person? I am happy and available to attend online courses but I live in WA and am the boss lady so can’t make travel plans.

    • brainpopandrew

Hi Jennifer – for now these certification classes are “in person” only. If we decide to offer online certification we will be sure to let people know!

  • Megan Mkrtschjan

I don’t see the form for applying to the ISTE training – is that still available?

  • cemignano

Hi Megan! We’ll be informing teachers sometime in April or May as we’re still accepting applications and ironing out final details.

  • brainpopandrew

Hi Everyone – even though we aren’t offering an online version of the certification class, you can take a self guided online course that will help you learn about all the newest features of BrainPOP. Here is the link: http://educators.brainpop.com/course-unit/unit-1-getting-started-brainpop/

  • Stacey Buckalew

If you have already applied to the Educator Program, do you have to fill this out again?

    • cemignano

Hi Stacey- Thanks for your interest in becoming a CBE! We ask that you do complete the application again for the event you’d like to attend. However, rather than filling out the longer portions again, please just make a note that you’ve applied for another event in the past. Be sure to include the name of the event for which you applied so we can easily go through our records to find your responses!

  • Emily Abram

Will there be any workshops in the south? I live in Arkansas and I would love to attend this! Thanks!

    • cemignano

Hi Emily! At this time, we don’t have any certifications planned in the south. Keep an eye on this page as we’ll be updating as soon as events are planned.

  • AF

Does Brainpop pay for hotel or flight fees?

    • cemignano

Hi! Attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses to the event. We hope to see you there!

  • LJ Dutton

How would we hear about if we are in? Just checking emails to make sure nothing has been bumped to spam.

    • cemignano

Hi LJ! A batch of invites went out this morning. If you don’t receive one by the end of today, please email us at educators@brainpop.com

  • Luequita O

Hi….I would like to sign up to become a Certified BrainPop Educator however I notice that your next conference is in Philadelphia. Are there any upcoming conferences in New York?

    • cemignano

Hi there! Thanks for your interest in becoming a CBE. At this time, we don’t have any plans for a NY workshop, but be sure to keep your eye on the CBE page as we’ll add new dates as soon as we’ve planned them.

  • Nicole Wong

Is the application closed? I know this is pretty last minute!

    • Jordan Tempro

Hi Nicole! Nope, the application is not closed. Pleas feel free to submit an application.

  • Dear Tim, Moby, & the BP Crew, When do you anticipate being in North Carolina (and offering a training session). Thanks! — Patrick Vernon

    • Antonio Perez

@mrvernon:disqus Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for North Carolina Training session. But my recommendation would be to keep an eye on this page for the next online course which ideally will be in the spring. Things may also change and a session in NC may pop up.

  • caseyjdoyle

Are there any other items that need to be completed with the workshop to become certified?

    • Antonio Perez

@caseyjdoyle:disqus Yes, after the workshop we provide instruction on the next steps to be certified. The requirements are expected to be done on your time and we provide a due date within a range of 6 weeks.

  • Joanna Brown

I am learning so much about using BrainPOP in the classroom and can’t wait to share it with my teachers.
