Educator Resources for Supreme Decision

Supreme Decision starts inside the Supreme Court, where players learn that a student named Ben Brewer was suspended for wearing a band t-shirt to school in violation of school policy. Ben argues that the First Amendment right to freedom of speech gives him the right to wear his t-shirt to school. However, the school argues that freedom of speech doesn’t apply if the shirts are becoming disruptive by causing arguments between students. After the oral arguments, players find out that the justices are deadlocked, and that they have to help cast the deciding vote. They gather evidence and help the Court reach its final decision.
