New on GameUp: Lakeland
Posted by Dana Burnell on
We’re proud to announce the addition of the game Lakeland from our partner Field Day Lab. Lakeland challenges students to navigate the complex relationship between farming, soil nutrition, and lake pollution.
The game’s mission is to grow the town of Lakeland without destroying its lakes. To accomplish this, students need to get the people farming. However, in addition to producing milk, cows produce lots of poop, which pollutes the lake. But poop is also good because it feeds plants and makes nutrients.
Friendly advisors help students along the way, showing them how to accomplish tasks such as growing and selling corn to starting a dairy farm.
