If you teach American history, you’ll love the latest game on BrainPOP’s GameUp! In conjunction with our partner, Museum of the American Revolution, we’ve just added American Revolution Timeline to our social studies game collection!
It’s a great way for students to explore the events of the American Revolution by examining key objects, weapons, documents, and art. Through a beautifully-rendered interactive timeline, students can explore image captions and video podcasts attached to the featured objects. Students will discover key milestones of the American Revolution, beginning in 1750 and ending with President Barack Obama’s election (in order to showcase the importance of the Revolution in the modern era.)
Our lesson ideas page offers a full lesson plan for the game and assessment ideas. You’ll also find tips for teaching with interactive simulations such as the American Revolution Timeline, as well as additional lesson plans and games for the revolutionary war topic.
How would you use this timeline with your students? Please share your ideas in the comments!
