New Spotlights!

Spotlight: Famous Scientists
Introduce Some of the Greatest Minds

In February, BrainPOP casts the “Spotlight”  on Famous Scientists. Explore our new movie and quiz on Thomas Edison and feature such topics as Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Charles Darwin, Galileo Galilei, Isaac Newton, Jane Goodall, Marie Curie, and the Nobel Prize.

Also in February, in honor of Black History Month, BrainPOP’s Spotlight: Black History explores topics from the Underground Railroad, Brown v. Board of Education, and Harlem Renaissance to Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Maya Angelou, and more. A Civil Rights quiz plus a Harlem Renaissance lesson plan on BrainPOP Educators make us your go-to resource for Black History content.

Spotlights are a great reminder to me of ways to integrate other curriculum subjects with a present social studies theme.

These spotlights also are a way to share with our special area teachers of art and music…it’s a way they can bring a well-received resource to their lessons to tie in with what is going on in the classroom.

Is there any way these spotlights can be archived somewhere accessible to subscribers for future reference or use when such subjects come up in our curriculum?

So glad to hear it! We are working on archiving our Spotlights so they’ll be easily accessible to you no matter when you teach these units. I will post when it’s up and running.

Great point about an easy way to share BrainPOP with specialists. I hope others will do the same!

Thanks for sharing all the cool ways you integrate and collaborate with BrainPOP, Robert.
